Dr. Ramon L. Jones is a fourth-generation preacher, pastor, educator, recovery advocate, and community leader whose life has been dedicated to helping individuals discover purpose, overcome adversity, and rebuild their lives. While ministry has been a part of his family heritage for generations, becoming a preacher was not initially the most important pursuit in his life.

Raised in a Christian home where faith, service, and biblical values were foundational, Dr. Jones was exposed to ministry from an early age. Like many young people seeking to establish their own identity, he briefly chose to explore life outside the boundaries of the church. During those formative years, he encountered influences that led him away from the spiritual foundation upon which he had been raised.

Although his involvement with drugs was limited and short-lived, those experiences exposed him to individuals whose casual experimentation quickly developed into serious substance abuse and addiction. Witnessing firsthand how addiction devastated families, destroyed opportunities, and altered the course of countless lives had a profound impact on him. He saw peers and acquaintances travel a path that led to incarceration, broken relationships, homelessness, and despair.

Those experiences became a defining turning point. Recognizing the destructive trajectory of addiction and determined not to follow that path, Dr. Jones made a life-changing decision to recommit himself to God, purpose, and service. More than forty years ago, he redirected his life toward helping others avoid the pain and consequences he had witnessed.

What began as a personal commitment soon developed into a lifelong mission. For more than four decades, Dr. Jones has worked extensively with individuals struggling with substance abuse, addiction recovery, life-controlling issues, and criminal justice involvement. His passion for recovery grew from both personal observation and a deep conviction that every person deserves an opportunity to experience transformation and restoration.

One of his most impactful initiatives was the development and leadership of R. L. Foundation, a recovery and life-restoration program dedicated to helping men and women overcome addiction and rebuild their lives. Through Restoring Live, Dr. Jones and Lakisha provided comprehensive support services designed to address the physical, emotional, spiritual, educational, and social challenges associated with recovery.
